Watercolor on yupo, 7x5 inches, 2018
Stonehenge has always been a place of fascination for me. I visited it as a small child whilst living in England. At that point in time there were no ropes to keep people from going up to the stones. It was a place that seemed magical to me as a child, especially when I researched it for a school project. I went back to see Stonehenge in 2010, the stones are now cordoned off and there is a souvenir shop… yet it still remains a place of magic and mystery in my mind.
The piece was painted with watercolor pigments made from amethyst and bloodstone.
