This figure is in a crouched and self-protective pose prepared for the worst. I remember my parents telling me how they crouched under their school desks during air raid drills. This piece expresses how exhausting it is to constantly protect one’s self in the event something bad MIGHT happen. It’s about seeing anxiety as transient, and putting it in perspective. We are inundated by reports of horrible and tragic news on a daily basis. The murder of crows fly through the figure; in a moment, they will have passed from sight and only clear skies will remain. Nothing is constant except change…
