Curiosity with Caution
I often fear opening my mouth because anything you say can and will be held against you in the age of the internet. Your life could be ruined by one ill-advised post or a statement taken out of context. Keeping quiet is no longer an option since there are too many wrongs to be addressed. However, speaking freely is extremely risky since the rules of civility have been suspended in much of the public discourse, and many are quick to take offense. If we won’t speak to one another we cannot connect. If we don’t connect, we cannot fix that which ails our society and planet. The Fox and Kiwi approach one another with curiosity with caution. What will come of their meeting?
This is piece is currently on view at The Fisher Gallery in my exhibition Milagros in My Pocketbook on view through October 6th. The opening reception is September 7th, 2-4PM.
